It is usually a Month or a little less/more but if it is in high demand it could be up to 3 (I've seen it in person).
It varies with the theatre and the demand to see the movie.

It stays in theaters less time than it used to. Sad. It depends on how much money the movie is making in the theaters. If it's not making that much money, it goes to the dollar theaters for awhile, Hoot is already at the dollar theaters. But, I think the longest now is 4-5 months, when the DvDs now come out. They need to make it back to 6 months.

that depends on how good it is, if it is really crappy it can be out of theaters within a week. This is also true of how long it takes to come out on video and DVD. the Longest movie i can remember was Lion king which was in Theaters for over a year.

It depends on it's box-office performance. The more successful, the longer it'll play. If it's a failure, it'll hit DVD in about 3 to 5 months (or less) after it's theatrical release.

The bigger "blockbuster" the longer the movie stays in a theater. For example - "Hoot" was only in my town 2 weeks. "DaVinci Code" is still playing "MI3" just left, "RV" is in second run theaters.

If they are popular they will stay for more than 3 months but if they aren't less or three months.

it can be as little as 2 weeks around here - especially if the theater owner(s) want to make room for a blockbuster.

Long enough to suck the cash out of somebody's wallet. Then it shows up at the video store.
