Neither, to extreme, will provide VALID life-answers: open eyes are best, what one sees is best seen with eyes open and then the truth, one way or the other, can be acted upon accurately--or at least MOST effectively as possible--ALL factors taken into account.

I'd say it depends on what is in the glass.
Optimism is a better motivator. It is also healthier. However a bitter glass is better half empty. Even an optimist can become discouraged when thier glass is always full and the contents always bitter.
Another aspect is how likely the glass is to be refilled and with what. If downing a half full glass of a medicine means it's refilled with a joyfull beverage it's best the glass is half rather than all full. It means the person is halfway to recovery in some desired goal. If the glass being half full means there is no more it can turn optimism into depression. Everybody needs to know there is a way to refill the glass when it comes to essential needs/wants.

The glass would half to be half full. Becuase full would mean that there is still something in it. Saying it was half empty would be like a double negative sentence (in a way), becuase the word empty, would mean there is nothing in it, so if it was half empty, then that wouldnt make any sence.

You create your own reality, period. If then, you are expecting nothing but good things to come into your life, then the chances are good that mostly good things will. The converse is also true.
Pessimism is mostly a reaction to the psyche's suffering some intial defeal, and insitlling a self-protecting mechanism to ensure the ego suffers no further damage. By expecting the bad thing to happen, it doesn't happen unexpectedly and therefore you were 'prepared'.
Only, it never works that way. What happens instead is that one begins to live from bad moment to bad moment. Apophenia sets in because there can be no enjoyment of the present.
Optimism allows you to only live in the bliss of the present, and when then bad things do happen, you have the comfort of knowing they will eventually turn themselves around again.

I guess that all depends on the individual. I like to think optimism is the better choice. Gives you more hope, you acheive more goals, more of a "go getter" and so forth. Just my opinion. Being negative sucks!

The glass doesn't care either way. :)
Being a pessimist, I think that optimism might be a better way to go, just can't believe it will work out.

It's always better to try to be optimistic, but sometimes being too optimistic can let you down.
It's all about perception, how you see a situation is different from what other people see. Try taking a look at the flip side and see if you can analyze that.

i guess it depends on the person... people tend to say that being negative does not help and that optimism helps people and encourages... i think that sometimes it might be good to be negative because if you are and the results are good you will be suprised like you did more than you thought and if you are optimistic and things turn out bad you will not be content

Empty your glass completely. It's the only way to fully appreciate or learn anything new.

when you look at it optimistically, they are both the same (literally) a glass that is half empty or half is the same so whatever the problem is you can solve it either way!
