The car wreck my boyfriend and I were in the 31st of March. My car was all busted up, my boyfriend wasn't even supposed to be driving, then when the police let him go and we started picking up the mess of my poor car, we looked in the backseat, and the jack that we kept in the trunk had knocked down the backseat (that folds down anyway) on impact and flew into my seat. Had we been going just a bit faster, the jack would have gone through my seat and severed my spine. That's the most terrifying realization in the entire world. That didn't hit for a few days, though. When it hit me, I just fell apart and sobbed for what seemed like forever. Just to think, in a matter of seconds, your life can be ripped from you, is a terrible reality. I can say our relationship strengthened a lot in that small period of time and our appreciation for each other skyrocketed.

I saw a girl get hit by a pick up truck when I was in high school. I was standing on the corner across from where she was going to cross. She just walked right in front of the truck, he had no time to stop. The sound of the collision was terrible. I just froze, I didn't know what to do. Luckily a teacher in the building across the street had seen it as well and had already called for an ambulance.

For me it was coming upon a car accident in which a friend of mine was killed. It was Christmas eve at 2 am. There was puddles of blood everywhere! Bloody hand prints on beer cans, passenger seat thrown from the car, there was so much more.
They had been drinking and driving and went head on with a cab from an 18 wheeler (it was their fault) and spun out of control.
Aside from losing a friend I had known since preschool the worst thing was knowing that the driver of the 18 wheeler cab has to live with 4 deaths for the rest of his life!

I thought I saw an alien outside my window once, and the fear was like being plunged into a bathtub full of ice, but it was just my imagination, there wasn't anything there.
