who thinks the earth will end?

There is no doubt the earth will come to an end one day, but it's hard to predict when. There is currently a meteor that could wipe us out sometime after 2020, and if we manage to sustain ourselves without a meteor crashing into us, the sun will eventually burn out. There are also many spiritual theories that call for an end to the world, but you have to take it with a grain of salt. My suspicion is that everyone alive today will be dead before the earth does end, as long as science doesn't fine a way to prolong our lives to a thousand years or more (which supposedly they are on the brink of doing).

There is also the real problem of pollution and our own destructiveness. We are quickly eating up all our natural resources, and if as a human race we don't continue to invest in finding alternative fuels and ways to clean up the mess we've made, it is likely disease will run rampant and we'll die, society as a whole.

The earth will be engulfed by the sun when it swells to become a red giant. But don't worry about that, its billions of years away and humans will self destruct long before that happens.
