I know, I know. I'm going to hear all about how wonderful Hillary is and so forth...I'm prepared for that, and if you can back it up with proof, I'm ready to hear your praises. Just don't include the fact that she's a woman, because that doesn't mean she can run a country. I'm thinking Obama or Biden. They have experience and they know what they believe is the best for this country. I think an actual leader lies in them, but I'm open to suggestions.

I would like Joe Biden to be the candidate.
1. He is a senator, with experience in the government
2. He was not afraid to say, directly, that he was wrong about something...
3. He talks about protection from terrorists, which will win over quite a few conservative voters...

Speaking as a Republican, I'd have to say Hillary Clinton, because she can't and won't win. But if you want my sincere opinion on who would be the best candidate, I'd say anyone who isn't currently in the Democratic leadership. I don't know enough about Barack Obama or his positions to comment on how good he'd be, but he'd be a better choice for the Dems than Hillary, Kerry, Gore, or any of the other current party leaders, as they've all made @sses of themselves at various times.

You might also want to consider a candidate from the South, such as Virginia governor Warner. Consider that the last non-Southern Democrat to be elected President was JFK, back in 1960.

John Edwards, Russ Feingold or Hillary Clinton.

Mark Warner: Moderate former governor of VA

Russ Feingold: The only one to vote against the war. Senator from Wisconsin who actually listens to and communicates with his constituents on a regular basis.

Mike Easley: Governor of NC. Champions balanced budgets and education, plus I live in NC and think it would be cool for him to be president.

Bill Richardson: Governor of NM. Would corner the market on the hispanic vote.

John Edwards: The public has a positive view of him plus he has national exposure. Recently came in first in a poll of likely democratic Iowan voters, ahead of Clinton.

Joe Biden: Anyone who's ever listened to the man talk can't help but respect him.

Hillary Clinton

This way the democrats don't stand a chance, as America is unfortunately unable to fathom a woman president at the present time.

Hillary for Pres, and John Kerry for Vice Pres. that would be an awesome combination. That way a Republican is sure to get office again.
