no, and never! Andy Roddick hasn't made any remarkable winning before of his hot-temper. If he's calm enough, he'd do it very good. His failures often came from the spontaneous characteristic of him, he's not as grown-up as Roger Federer, just like a little kid! Roger can maintain the same position as nowadays part of his talent, and part of his ability to stay calm, no matter what happens.

So why can u compare Roddick to Anna Kournikova? I guess that u rarely watch tennis. It's better if you compare Maria Sharapova to Anna Kournikova, she's sooner or later change her main career to modelling, not as a tennis player as she;s now!!!

Shame on you to compare such a silly thing like that!

I have to agree with playball. I think a good sports comparison to Andy Roddick could end up being Karl Malone, putting aside that one plays an individual sport. I believe Malone would have won at least one ring if Jordan wasn't there. If Roddick never wins another grand slam, he may end up thanking is lucky stars that Federer didn't figure out what to do with all that talent before the '03 US Open.

lol Kournikova had injury problems? She "retired" to spend more time on modeling. Roddick finally retired because he realized he wasn't going to win ANY tournament again. He also hasn't been a good representative and motivator to young US players. It was time to get out the way and hope someone helped our country get back on track.

No, he's actually won singles titles and one major. Anna never did. Plus he's kind of a victim of chance having to play in the same era as Roger Federer who may be the best ever before he's done.

psh no. If he was, he would've been out of tennis already. Kournikova left tennis much younger than Roddick is right now. There's no way that he'll be like her. No way.

OUCH. No, I'd have to say he isn't the next Anna. He is pretty, but he isn't that pretty - and he's had a rough spell, but it hasn't been THAT rough a spell. I think he'll do well in the US Open - whether or not he wins, will be another story.

To put it bluntly...Andy's a has-been, Anna's a never-was. So no, they're in no way similar.
