It could be any number of things. Perhaps it was her umbilical sac, perhaps it was her cervix (which could be swollen or dilating in preparation for the baby), perhaps it was just a fluke. If she experienced any unusual symptoms, such as pain or bleeding, you should call her physician and explain the situation. Also, if it will ease your mind, do not hesitate to call.

Unlike what some others have said, it is completely safe to have sex during the last trimester unless your doctor advises you otherwise. If you aren't sure, feel free to ask. That's what your doctor is there for, to help. If your wife's pregnancy is not a high risk one, you should have no problems with sex until labor begins.

Ok, first of in response to the dingy who said no sex during third trimester is wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!! In fact many doctors reccomend sex as a way to help induce labor, just pull out before you peak, or use a condom. I know, my doctor had told me to do this when I went over due with my second baby. Second of all, what you felt could be the bag of water or the baby's head pushing against the cervix, making it more prominent than you are used to. Don't freak out, just means baby any minute. By the way congratulations!

Well it can be a number of things. it could be the plug at the bottom of the cervix which holds the baby and the water sac inside.
It could be the water sac, it could be the babys head but that's unlikely unless the waters have broken.
If she is 91/2 months gone then it must be the plug at the bottom of the cervix holding everything in. Please don't be worried about it.

I would say its her cervix cause I don't know if you could feel the water bag or not. If she is that close to having a baby sex will help it along.

Not to worry. As long as the doc. says you can have sex and she feels like it,it is totally ok.What you probably felt was the "fundus" or the bottom(or is it top)whichever,of her uterus. This will enlarge and get soft before birth. This is the opening where the baby will come out.Sex can actually help her go into labor.Congrats and good luck!♥

Could be the babies head...the doctor can put their finger in and feel the head when doing an exam the last several weeks. Your baby sounds like it has dropped...make sense being she is almost about to pop!

We cuddle extra beforehand sex as we both bypass to sleep (very right away - we are not youthful'uns) or we are getting as a lot as commence the day (we've way extra morning sex than sex at evening).
