If you think that not being invited to a birthday celebration in the cubicle next to me is about me being old and unwilling to accept new talent, then more power to ya!

I am 28 and I am not "stuck up". But I know how you feel, my mom complains about that sometimes too. If you are unable to bond with them, seek out people your own age and form a clique (then they will feel left out since chance are, the 40 somethings are their bosses). They'll probably be a whole lot nicer to you and you'll get to be "stuck up" too. :)

I am 24 and I am not stuck up. The only reason why old people (40 years or up) think that is because they are not willing to change and any new talent, knowledge or procedure that gets applied scares them because it shows them how little they know. If you are not intimidated by this-then no one, regardless of his/ her age, will intimidate you. Another reason is the realization that you are getting old and no one wants to hire you anymore.

Yep. That's why I got on the management track. I'm the boss. They can be snotty. I can make their life Hell. I call it a lesson in etiquette.

Absolutely (I'm 36 but I'm "old" in spirit so I count too!)
