Hands have been hurting for past 2 months. I am 36 female and have cracked knuckeles forever. But this seems like something else. Joints are stiff and sore. Sometimes I can't open a bottle of water. What could this be a symptom of besides arthritis?

Could be Lyme disease and if you also experience weakness witht eh pain it could be tendonitis or carpal tunnel.

Could be arthritis or tendonitis or something like that. I crack my knuckles all the time...I had the same problem for a while, so my parents advised me to stop writing and spending hours upon hours online, and if it didn’t get better I’d see a doctor. Everything’s fine, although every once and a while the pain will come back. Seek advice, diagnosis, and treatment from your doctor soon if you think it’s serious. What also worked for me is pretend you’re conducting (when no one is near) an orchestra. Smoothly move your hands and it helps make your hands feel better.

It could be some of these things, Rheumotoid Arthritis which is more painful it's the inflammation of the joints, most people with this can't even turn on a light switch, or just Arthritis which can be triggered by food or weather but can be managed. or Lupus i have both and i'm currently on Diclofenac Sodium, Celabrex and Hydroxtcholoroquine Sulfate Only the Celebrex really works to help myself i started keeping a health diary, then i gave it to my doctor. Keep note of your food intake,Weather,Physical Activity Etc.

It is important to talk to your doctor! At this age (I'm 2yrs older) it can be arthritis. It is not a disease for the old, but it can be a symptom of something else, including hormonal changes. Water retention could play a roll, carpel tunnel is also a possibility.

Also consider how you sleep. Do you sleep with your wrist bent? If so try to consciously keep them straight. Do you do a lot of things with your hands? Try a heat wrap.

However, no matter what talk to your doctor!

I wonder if you might have carpel tunnel syndrom. It's caused by a lot of computer use or repetitive motion. A doctor would know more of coarse. Mine is worst in the morning and seems to lighten up through the day. I drop things a lot in the morning and buttoning clothes is hard. topical stuff like Icy/ hot or Flexall will kind of help but be sure and wash your hands before using the restroom. They never say things like that on the labels but they should!!!

It is possible it is due to either low blood sugar or a systemic yeast syndrome. You may want to check out www.hufa.org for some basic information on both of those possibilities.

other than arthritis, if it just seemed to appear overnight or over a couple of days, you may just be dehydrated. drink lotsa water and see if it clears up by tomorrow.
