I found the Job Centre quite useful for advice when I was out of work. At least it got me out and about rather than sitting at home all day though the jobs were not really suited to me.
I have also paid a few thousand £s for one of these career counsellors in the past. The CV was far better than what I'd produced but other than that I would not recommend them.
'What Colour is Your Parachute' is a good and popular book to buy. It makes you look at your strengths and weaknesses and helps you make a decision.

Hi,
Sounds like you need some career advice. You should try a career counselor. If you go to school, go to the career center. Or, if you're out of school, many cities have their own non-profit career center. It totally helped me.
Then once you have some idea of what you want to do, you can try going to this site:
http://www.jobpodge.com
It's a site of real life job experiences. It will give you a person's first hand view of their job. This will help you avoid finding some informational interviews.
Good luck!

Instead of looking outside yourself think about what you enjoy doing most and what environment you enjoy being in. A job could be right for you but the company/ people not suited to you. Sometimes when you stop looking so hard you can find the answer.
