He has no plan of occupation. The admin THINKS a time line would allow the insurgents the ability to "sleep" til we leave.
Several insurgent groups actually stated they would accept a two year time line. I say NO make it one year. If they can go one year without ANY attacks we leave. Once an attack occurs, the clock resets.

First of all they should not have been sent there at all. But since they were what did we gain? Higher gas prices? More injured soldiers or those who came home in a casket? Where is the brain or sense in the administration? Even if soldiers who survived or injured did have a definite date to come home what's then? They will need to be treated physically (most probably) and psychologically and on top of it receiving help for all they went through for the rest of their lives most likely. And all of if out of taxpayers like you and me. What about us and how it affects us?! I think the administration should spend some time thinking about people in US (not the rich and powerful) instead of concentrating all of the money and power on other countries. I am not saying we should not help - but if we do shouldn't we see the results at least? So far I have not seen any results and I am sure the administration realizes they went wrong but it's too late to do anything about it but wait for more crisis. US should settle its own problems before tackling other countries.

Why can't people understand this? you can't have a timeline because you don't know what the Iraqis are going to do. You can not just go in and stir the pot and just leave when the job is half way done. In order for this to work he have to finish the job. If we don't finish it, it will be another Vietiam. Most Democrats wouldn't think that would be a bad idea becuase that would make Bush look bad, but it is not in our best intrest. If you really believe that Bush wants to be over there for the hell of it you are seriously not thinking this out and are just out to make him look bad at all coast.

There is no time line because there is no plan. The Bush administration got us into a war that high school students could have figured out was unwinnable. We're stuck there. That's all there is to it. They stopped looking for Bin Laden, never focused on North Korea when they should have and this country is too busy watching TV to figure it out.

Good question, no answer, Bush in his greedy little mind is going to rape this country for all it is worth. He is making money hand over fist from this war why would he want to end it. He is nothing better the a coke snorting, alcoholic that has passed himself off as a moral, born again christian, and the mentally diminished still buy it. How sad it is for this country that these people are even allowed to vote.

Bush is leaving it to the next administration to figure out how to get us out of his mess he put us in. It will be many years to come before we can even start to heal as a nation for what Bush has done to us and our country.
He wanted his revenge on Saddam and took it, not caring that the consequences will have to be paid for long time and we probably will never recuperate in the eyes of the international community.
He done us wrong!

The short answer is usually the most accurate one:
Why won't he give us a time line for bringing them home? Because he has no plans for bringing them home.
Will the troops be provided for? No.
Does the Bush Administration care? What does it look like? That would be a no.
Life is really so simple.

All you guys are a bunch of crying liberals. Why would need a timeline? How would we know when Iraq will be able to stand up on there feet? The timeline is when Iraq is able to support itself then we leave. We don't need a certain date. These people in Iraq are also humans and we are trying to help them. You can't put a timeline on when we leave.

BECAUSE WE REPULICANS WANT TO WIN THE WAR, not run away and let another president have to deal with it the way Clinton ignored the problem (he was told about Osama bin Ladin) and let President Bush deal with it. I'm happy we have a cowboy in the white house instead of a do nothing - self serving pervert like Clinton.

He did! 2009, after he leaves office!
And I agree with you. Pull them now! Their only purpose over there now seems to be targets of IEDs. Some 930 deaths!
Iraq was never about freedom and neither will they ever be a democracy!
