Are you talking like at a port level from a user in your on your network or on that particular computer or what? Typically edonkey uses certain ports to gain access in and out so the person using edonkey can download and upload files at the same time.

Please clarify what u mean by block.
Do you mean to stop edonkey agents on network computers from searching and using your computer or block edonkey installed on ur computer by some other user.
I think the best way is to use firewalls like Windows firewall or Zone alarm. But this is more suitable for blocking an edonkey installation on ur computer that u dont want to uninstall currently.

In all other cases u just uninstall it.

If u need to use a p2p client, i would recommend Bearshare (www.bearshar.com), its very light, large userbase and fast and works gr8 even on slow dialups.
