better to be productive than to be lazy like the europeans

Probably because we want so much. I know some people who live at a much more relaxed pace than me, they just live a more simple life with less physical rewards. I can't help but think they are a head of the rest of us who keep on working and working many hours.

4. We want things that are out of our budget, but work harder thinking it will eventually make it's way into the budget

It's a trade-off we deal with in order to afford our ever needy lives and pay our bills. Unfortunately it has escalated so much that our jobs have slowly become a large part of who we are instead of just being a means to enrich our lives.
