Its a long process. You have to get a lawyer, your local CASA office can get you started.

You have to prove that your are mature enough and able to take care of yourself. A trick that teens in NJ try is getting pregnant, when they go into labor they are legally emancipated. I definitely don't advise that! Then you are with no parents and with a child.

Chances are the court would try to place you with other relatives if you are in danger where you are or if your home life is very dysfunctional. But one downside is the court might emancipate you but place you in a shelter or developmental house (half-way house) until your 18th birthday.

First step, talk to a counselor and make sure you are doing the right thing and that it is the best possible decision for yourself. If it is, then the next step is to talk to a lawyer and you will need some money for this, unless you can prove that your home situation is really hazardous to you, then a social worker can help you do this for free. A judge will ultimately decide whether it is in your best interest to be emancipated. The time it takes depends on your situation and on your state laws.

You have too be able too prove your mature enough for it (good grades, ability too hold full-time job)

And you need too prove how your going too live/support yourself

AND prove why you want too be emancipated

Takes about a year..tons of hard work...lots of court fee's

If you are thinking about walking in "Christs'" shoes, being "in" the world but not of the world, eye can truly relate. However, if you are talking in some "crazy" terminology with no simplistic purpose, you have created your own monster.
