Babies have erections too, so yes it is normal for a 12 yr old boy to have an erection. Just make sure he gets the talk about birds and the bees before he does something to relieve his erection!

Yes its very normal, Ive got 2 boys 16 & 15 and thats bout the age they was getting them & getting them alot.
Boys' bodies start changing from age 10 to 12, Boys and young men get erections for no reason at all. "Spontaneous erections" can be very embarrassing. Most adults, children, and infants enjoy touching their sex organs and other parts of their bodies.

Ummm..he's probably been having erections since he's been born...maybe you haven't noticed, it's a guy thing (I have two sons of my own). Now that he's hitting puberty, you may want to let him know that he's going to be ejaculating as well (via wet dream or masturbation)...scared the heck out of me the first time, as I didn't have a clue. Do him a favor and have a talk.

YES...He's becoming a man and hitting puberty...Also he probably is having "wet dreams" it's a shock to him too..he may be confused let him know that it's a part of life and it's normal...Don't look surprised it may scare him...
