The only lyrics I can remember are "...as long as you will let me (let me, let me, let me, let me)" and everyone always shouts out those "let me's". I know it's not much but anyone know it??

No, this is going to be a David Allen Coe song from the late 1970's. He describes it as the perfect country song...talks about trains, prison, moma, and pick up trucks. It's called "You never called me by my name".

'You never even call me by my name' is the title. It is often called 'You don't have to call me darling.' It is one of my personal favorites and is a quality bar song.
