They usually live only 1 day. If it's that bad there were ready to fly when it's raining, well...that's what I call the wasted life. The rain will destroy powder covering the wings and some hungry spiders will have a meal. The answer is: in wood holes, under leaves, by windows and gutters of human houses etc.

Anywhere they can hid, bushes, over hangs of homes, trees ect. Most insects can feel if rain is coming, this is needed because of survival. A single rain drop would kill or cause the death of many insects.
