The 2 times I've asked questions simple search engines can't help me on, I've gotten either 0 responses or humor related answers. Too bad to. While being a worthy experiment, it seems yahoo answers is failing.

What were your questions?

Maybe I can answer...remember, Y! Answers is an inter-net tool. Anyone and everyone will be answering, which means your open to about everything.

I would recommend doing some chat board research. Surf for more deep thinking, thought provoking boards (if that's what your looking for).

Good luck in your quest for better answers!

I usually answer any question that requires thought or opinion, but if there is something that i know about, then i will answer even if it is a simple answer to a question that would have been researched from the asker. I have noticed that a lot of the questions being asked are so simple to just research, and in that sense it is a little sad that some people have no motivation to find answers on their own. But, i wouldn't go so far as to say that yahoo answers is failing..... regardless of how silly or senseless the questions, or answers, may be, we are all still engaging in some form of communication, and that is something that much of our sociey lacks. Enjoy it when you can answer a stupid question, and feel good about enlighting someone. The point is we are interacting and it doesn't hurt to share ideas, opinions, knowledge, and even jokes with the rest of mankind, even if is it just to avoid boredom.

Not all people who answer questions do this. I'm not doing it now. I have a brain in my head and lot's of life experiences that allow me to answer a variety of questions from lots of topics without having to use the Internet. Not all answers are on the Net. But some questions have answers that can be found in some very informative websites.

Do yahoo answers users ONLY answer questions that can be easily retrieved in a google search?

Lazy, stupid or both. A lot of these things can be retrieved with a search, although some require a bit more extensive work.

Others just see it an an opportunity for a quick two.

Ok - I just looked at your last few questions. If I dont' KNOW an answer, I don't answer a question for the hell of it.
If the question is funny, I'll try to respond with a funny answer. If this is failing, how come everyone is addicted to it?

Perhaps other avatars don't recognize you. Are there dark glasses on your avatar? That has been my conclusion-about 1/3 of my questions received 0 answers.

I try my best to answer questions with personal experience and with candor. I try to use the web if possible but only if it's something I don't have personal experience in. We have to individually try to keep this going, if not it will fizzle out faster than...dang it I can't remember the name of that website.

I answer all sorts of questions. Those I know about, those I can research, and those that simply deserve a cutting retort. Perhaps your questions are just too obscure for us lame-o Y!A users!

I,m new, but I try to find the hard questions so I can get 10 points! I think most are satisfied to get 2 points, and are only here because they are bored.
