We've talked to the builder and plumbers. No one seems to know why it smells so bad when it rains.

mold? check it. the builder messed up. The builder should give you a 1 year warranty but if you have a problem he is responsible for 5 years. maybe the sewer is messed up, hold him accountable. after all you paid for a good house. I work with builders, im a mason contractor.

give your house an antacid. LOL!!! Sorry....Sounds like you have a leak. I would need more info though. Is the smell in the sub-area? Do you have stucco? wood siding? Is it a flat top roof? Do you have overhangs? If you have a subarea and the semell is from there, are you on a slope? If it is from the subarea, then I would recommend french drains.

New wood, if it gets "WET", it will smell even more. Sometimes builders use green wood to finish theirs houses, guess what when more moisture is penatrated - SMELL & smell.

You can remove the worst green wood or use spring flavor sprays or your favorite one. Also, you can use dehumdifiers, for too much moisture in the air.. It will take time to dry! Good luck

Depending on where you live, you may have a mold problem. If you're allergic--and many people are--you may also find that you have symptoms when it rains.

You may also have a back flow problem.
