properly i a an avid raccoon trapper. I stay in Texas and capture 12 months around. final 12 months i harvested around 50 or so raccoons. i will actual capture a raccoon in a million night if i felt like it. this is not all interior the bait. Catching them has to do which contain your region, how populated that are on your section, and capture placement. in case you opt to apply sardines you will ought to placed the capture in a dug up ditch or hollow close to a water source the place fish thrive. peanut butter will frequently in user-friendly terms deliver RATS! while you're trapping in a woodland lay down your capture close to a tree push some marshmelows in a cup and placed some brush over the best of the cage. Make shure the front of the cage is obvious of any grass or tall weeds. Now if that doesn't artwork then there are some greater not as good baits. you ought to use any uncooked meat, yet which could additionally draw up opossums and skunks. yet sometime i set out a capture in an inactive section to confirm if there have been any raccoons in any respect i placed uncooked dove meat and marshmellows interior the capture. Wen fishing later that night close to a pond close to the capture and there lay a extensive raccoon. So those 2 are good mixtures. Now if your utilising a foot capture or snare please e mail me in case you opt to appreciate how and the place to set those. thank you, Chris

Dr. Education answers: You want them kept alive? is that what you mean by a live trap? Stuff, get rid of the pests by setting glue traps, or the new enclosed traps ( they have this cover over the snap part). The peanut butter is excellent because it sticks to the trap, loose objects can be triggered and fly across the yard providing the booty they were seeking.

some thing that is going a bit off... as they love the smell of rotting food..a small piece of meat is ideal...not to big as rats are inteligent creatures and will nibble at it and leave a bit in the trap as not to be caught

Rats like other animals have a very sweet tooth so anything like chocolate or cake works well.

my rats used to love roast chicken, they're omnivores so like i nice bit of cat food or ham to. they do like things like cherrys but never once touched lettuce or tomato. and although it sounds cliche they do like cheese and muffins and for some reason mine always tried to steal my red wine...

or you could go with the cheap option and go get some rat food from a pet shop, it's like hamster food only with less grain and chicken in it.

Agree with sweetcandy - they love chocolate and it doesn't come away in one piece so they'll not escape with it - no bird food please - too risky
