When I tan out by the pool, I usually wear makeup- don’t ask why- I know it bakes into your skin- ugh- but my question was can you still tan with makeup or cover up on? Or does the sun not shine through the maekup?

I guess if your makeup doesn't have any SPF, you should be able to get tan

most good foundationd have a built in sunblock i use borghese it has a spf of 20 if you happen to use some without sunblock then you will still tan if it has sunblock then you may still tan just at a slower rate you should really take off the make up before laying out because the sun has an amazing shrinking effect on your pores where as make up and heat will lead to clogged pores and breakouts

If one of the ingredients of your makeup is a sunscreen and depending upon the strength of that sunscreen - yes you can still tan, if it contains no screen then you could possibly setting yourself up for a burn. Generally between the heat and the swimming the makeup isn't going to last anyway.

depends, does your cover up have sun block in it, most do, check on the container if it says SPF, then theres sun block in it so your some what protected from the sun, if not then you'll still tan those rays of light couldn't care less the cover-up doesnt bother them, but for the record san taning is very un healthy...

yes as long as your make up doesn't have a high spf. but what is even better is not wearing makeup and making sure you wear some sunscreen because you are gonna get ugly wrinkly, leathery skin when your older if you don't take care of your skin now
