Even with its short commings this is still better than anything else. John T. You call the President names but can't back it up with fact!! In this little place we call reality while far from perfect President Bush is nothing like the filth you compare him to. If you hate it here so much why don't you move to France they like terrorist-loving little twerps like you.

I have no problem with people opposing the President's policies it is when they call him horrible names that it bugs me. As for testy well maybe you are referring my answer to daringsuperhero (talk a bout a misnomer) attacking my religion (LDS or for the less knowledgeable Mormon) who felt that it was necessary to attack my church because he had no answer to me. At least I can respect your answers even if I don't agree. I am just tired of the double standard.

Whats the deal with France mate? Leave them out of it, at least us in Europe arent war-mongering imbeciles like alot of the Americans who follow Bushs policy without question.
I do agree however with the comment about people who wont back up statements. However, saying Bush is bad isnt unpatriotic, its just airing a view against a Leader

sad isn't it?
thomas p you are an arrogant little twit. speaking your mind is all well and good but you still deserve a broken nose for that war mongering imbecile comment. i've seen your other posts and you obviously don't think much of Americans but I'd at least try not to be so insulting when you aren't face to face with someone...it makes you look like sissy.
s.e.n.s.i.b.... I don't understand how you could perceive this as a game on our presidents or this countries part. Do you not understand what is going on all over the world? would you rather just play nice with the likes of al quaeda? What families exactly do you feel are threatened by us. Yes there have been civilian casualties. There always has been in war. Do you have a better way? Just how would you deal with these Islamic fanatics? Our 9-11 didn't start this...it was when someone in this country said enough is enough and decided to take them on. These people have been terrorizing people for decades and no one did anything. At some point someone has to grow a pair. You hate us because we have?

I do not see people bashing the country as a whole. Many people bash Bush. You are obviously someone who thinks like Bush and equate him to the country. I am a patriot and have served in the USMC. I love the USA and I am proud to have served to protect the freedom we enjoy.
I consider George Bush to be the most dangerous president this nation has ever had. He exempts himself from any legal restraints to an extent never seen before.
He jails people without arresting them or charging them with a crime. He has protestors moved to fenced in areas so that the people that appear around him are only supporters. He violates the freedom of people daily and claims that as President he is exempt or above the law.
He has claimed more signing exclusions that all other president combined. The list of freedoms he has taken from this nation would require pages to list.
Move to France? To enjoy the freedom I fought for here? I do not think so. There is a very real battle being fought here, the fascists against the democrats. At stake is the future of the nation.
To see how debauched the Bush people are look at them wrapping themselves in the Flag with the flag burning amendment. If you talk to people who have served in the military you will find that more believe that flag burning should be ignored or fought with rhetoric that with legal restraints. We fought for freedom. The flag is only a symbol of that.
The true irony of it is that the Court case that allows flag burning was a Puerto Rican who was protest the status of Puerto Rico as a U.S. territory. They wanted to jail the person that burned the flag of the country he called an occupying nation.

It is simple - bashing the president and calling his policies failed is not the same as bashing the country. George Bush is not the United States of America. He is an elected representative who is, at present, highly unpopular because of a failed attempt at war based on a complete lack of mission definition, too few troops, a complete lack of understanding the context of a post-War Iraq, and the inability to recognize and correct mistakes.
People (especially on here) complain that the Democrats have "no plan for Iraq". I fail to see that the present administration has any plan whatsoever. All they can say is "Stay the Course" when the course we're presently on is taking us down a dangerous road full of potholes that keep damaging our reputation in the world and our stability at home.
Was any of that "bashing" the president or in any way, shape, or form "bashing" the USA?
No.
Shame on the person who bashed your religion (there's no room for that...although a lot of people on your side resort to such juvenile tactics as well).
But shame on you for not recognizing the difference between our nation and one person who was elected to be its chief diplomat and is failing sadly at that role.

it is wrong to bash america and i only bash the people in america for the crimes they commit against honest hard working americans who are cheated , lied to and poisoned by bush.
HIS administration and republicans who refuse to let up on the people and give back what they have taken from all americans .
you do not become rich working long hours you do it by working others hard and the more you can hire the better.trillions have been spent by the ford family and co.over the years and they are coplaining about health care costs riasing prices of labor and all along reaping billions in profits annually .cummulatively the have made enough money to write everyone in a merica a check for 100,000 .bucks but that is how much they have taken from the workers who built the company .

A bit testy today are we?At least you have a good forum for "aggression therapy".
The last time I was in France I did NOT see a brigade of "terrorist-lovers".The comparison to Bush was unkind, but his call to nationalism is,by today's standards, strikingly archaic.
And as for "short commings".Ethan,I'm sorry. Please forgive me.
You're the "short comming". Again,sorry.

Only American's and maybe poor Mexicans think it is better then anywhere else. But I do respect people who care about there country enough to acknowledge its faults and try and change it. Hey and France is really nice, some of the most interesting, intelligent, proactive people I have ever met.

I agree that America haters seem to be the majority on this site.
I have become increasingly disinterested in this site because most responses I have read are angry liberal rants that are based in emotion.
There is not much to be gained in arguing because this is not a forum for debate but rather a bulletin board of liberals bashing all things conservative.
Isn't it interesting how liberals consider themselves the open minded ones too?

Because they like to see people from other countries come on here with them and laugh about what a screwed up country we live in. Politics is an ugly business that's why in the real world people refrain from discussing it. When I was growing up the saying was never discuss religion or politics.

Come on! the Right bashed Clinton relentlessly, did it bother you then? Bush is a piece of filfth in my opinion, I'm still allowed to voice my opinion right? As far as the country goes, I love my country and am outraged at what the current corrupt administration has done to it in LESS than 6 years, Why aren't you outraged?
