I am looking for authors that are similar in style to Jacqueline Carey. I finished "Kushiel's Scion" last week and now I need something to read. Any ideas?

Depends on what your looking for. Carey is undoubtedly in a category of her own. I am assuming you'ved already Kushiel's Dart and the other books in that series.
If you are looking for "high fantasy" type books I would suggest Robin Hobb's Assassin's Apprentice series. Ann Marsh's Cloudbearer'sShadow series, The Curse of Chalion series by Lois McMaster Bujold etc. I would reccomend the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, as it is High Fantasy, but the series is also wayyyyyyyyy to dragged out so you might want to check that out.
If you looking for some romance I've always enjoyed Karin Monings Highlander's series and anything by Jude Deverauex. For something more on the eros side try Jaid Black's "the possession" .
