If work is slow the day drags by. If you have nothing to do, ask for more. It makes you look good and makes the time fly by. When things are legitimately slow, I work on a plan in my head. Usually about a vacation that is distant or a project I want to complete. I can actually go through doing the project in my head and pass time. If they let you, a good conversation with a co-worker can do the trick too.
