a pad will become so absorbed by water it will feel literally like a diaper when you get out. it's better to wear a tampon--and if you're uncomfortable with them, you CAN go without, because your flow does stop once your hips are submerged in water. don't stay in the water for more than a half hour to forty minutes, because you have your period for a reason, and it would NOT be good if the blood is trapped in your body.

Any sort of exercise is fine, including swimming, as long as YOU feel like it. Soaking in a warm tub or jacuzzi can even help ease menstrual cramps.

You will need to use a tampon however, since your maxi pad will act similar to a baby diaper and suck up as much water as it can hold in a few seconds... both uncomfortable and counter productive, since it won't be able to absorb the flow.

You can wear a tampon, and if you're not in a shark area you can take off your pad and you won't bleed once you get in the water, but you have to remember to put it back on imediatly afterward

you should wear a tampon because if you wear a pad you might start bleeding in the water and it makes it easier for your pad to fall out.
