When you have a bad sunburn, it often becomes very painful and glowing at night. I once heard that this has something to do with the gravitational power of the moon, in the same way that this causes the tidal movements. To be honest, it seems very unlikely to me, does anybody know more about this?

Be careful! Full moons can be VERY painful. On the other hand, a NEW moon can actually be very soothing if you are subjected to it's light on a very moderate basis. Now, what you need to watch out for is a "BLUE MOON", blue moons tend to be excruciatingly painful and almost fatal at times. In ANY event, if you experience any type of excessive discomfort, rub the affected areas with a liberal amount of a mixture of Vaseline and cucumber juice sprinkled with minced dandelion leaves. And then stay off the hallucinogenics...

Interesting question but I need more information.... Are you suggesting that while moon bathing after a bad sunburn your skin becomes more painful and glowing? Or, do these symptoms begin with the onset of the moon rising , regardless as to whether you are moon bathing or not? Do they diminish as the moon sets? Are any of these symptoms related to the stages of the lunar cycle???

The moon doesn't hurt your sunburn worse, it is your body that is reacting. If you take a shower as hot as you can stand before the sun goes down that day, it will take some if not most of the burning out! Then make sure you stay moistoursized so your skin doesnt dry out!

It feels worse at night because this is when your body naturally heals itself. It's caused by the blood rushing round your body tryinh to give it the nutrients it needs. The whole moon thing is a myth.

the only moon that would make your sunburn feel worse is if someone was sitting on it. HA HA! Get it?? I kill me!!

don't worry about it. Put lots of coppertone, or other soothing medication on it, and wear sunscreen! It could save your life!
