The answer to that is at the location on the tax form telling you how to pay taxes you may owe and unless that has been changed I believe it says Check or Money Order. I believe that is also located within the instructions to complete your tax forms.

You can't in the state of New York...the return forms specify the forms of payment they accept; usually credit card, check or money order and in some cases electronic transfer. However, it may differ in your state. If there is an option to pay in cash if you go in person, then legally they cannot refuse a cash payment in pennies unless it is posted otherwise. They likely won't want to accept it in pennies though.

If you are referring to your federal income taxes, no. The IRS does not accept cash as payment. If you are referring to taxes on purchases, sure why not.

Yes. Some tax protesters have done this. However, I think it would be wise to keep yourself off the IRS radar.

i guess....but the postage is going to be pretty costly.......and are you really going to trust the IRS to count all those pennies correctly?

they dont accept cash. only paper transfers of funds, like checks, money orders, bank checks etc.
good try and why would you want to piss them off,, you definetly dont want to be audited. do you?
