Reincarnation??

When people say things like "in a past life I was Alfred the great" Where exactly does the conscious go in between then and today??

There is a lot of evidence for reincarnation. You have children 3 or 4 years old saying "hey daddy, remember when I was the daddy?"

From my research in the paranormal (www.paranormal-society.com), I've come to a main conclusion. I believe there is an afterlife, and we go there between lives. We reincarnate into different people or life forms to learn new things. To say that in the afterlife our conscious exists, a soul exists, whatever, is tough. We're not really sure what retains or memories and what goes on into the next body.

Some religions believe that soul are never born and are recycled over and over til the end of time. Once you die, your soul will find another body as a vesicle whether human or animal. Some religions believe that you carry a part with you to each life you have, bringing along your morals, experiences, and karma.

Whether or no people claim they can come in touch with their past lives, i think they are full of crap. Why is it that every body was famous in their past life? Why not "I'm Joe, the fecalphiliac toilet bowl cleaner" or "I'm Bob, the bisexual garbage man".

It evolves into the modern day. Some people get the feeling of da ja vu and feel they have been in a place in a previous life. I cant say for sure who or what I was, but when i come back to life, i want to be the saddle on Keira Knightley's bicycle

i think that once you die ur body and nutrients and everything from into other things around you and you become nature. mika i think u were talking about karma there :s reincarnation is when u die u come back as something else. the human body is a gift from God but our soul is ours. i think if reincarnation was real though the population would stay the same, but it doesnt. its such a tricky question and we will NEVER find out, but i suppose its best that way it adds a bit of mystery into everything!

Some say it waits somewehere on spiritual level, in pararel world, and when it's time has the right to choose the sex and place to be born, or even family. The soul can wait some months or decades. But who knows with certainty???
Being catholic I should believe in 1 life only.

I think when you are in the spirit world you decide yourself if you want another life experience on earth then you choose who you are going to be, you pick your parents etc its just when you are born again you can not remember who you really are. I think earth is a learning curve for us and if we don't learn in this life then you have a choice to come back to this dense earthly plane again and learn what is needed then maybe then go to a higher plane of existence.

It could also stay in "limbo", waiting for the right moment and couple to be born from.

We as mortal beings will never know until the we take our last breath. I am a beliver in God and Jeseus christ, so i say after we pass on we live forever in heaven. Who knows. When we die and figure out the puzzle of life and death there is no way we can share discoveries with our human brothers. We as living mortals....... will never know or at least on Earth.

well, its not exactly your conscious that goes. re-encarnation is having another life to fix what u did wrong in your previous one. like if u shot someone in ur present life, u will probably get shot in ur next life. kinda like wat goes around comes around. the body u have now is temporary, your soul is forever.
