Everyone lies. Small lies can sometimes make social interactions better and avoid divisiveness. Large lies usually hurt someone.
And I can't resist a quote from Babylon 5:
"Everyone lies, Michael. The innocent lie because they don't want to be blamed for something they didn't do, and the guilty lie because they don't have any other choice."

I dont think that I have ever lied about anything that is important enough to be sorry for. I generally dont lie, and when I do, it is more like a white lie, or telling a half truth. I do it more to protect peoples feelings, like telling your grandmother you love the ugly sweater she bought you... Things like that, because being honest in that circumstance just makes the other person feel bad for no reason.

EVERYONE LIES. If you say you don't, YOU'RE A LIAR. Kids learn to lie at a young age to get out of trouble. So even the most honest people have lied when they were kids. Also everyone tells little white lies to not offend someone. "Does my butt look big in this". Better say no if you know whats good for you.
