A Catholic does not believe in Reincarnation for the simple reason for which the Bible says that it is meant for man to die once and then face the judgement ...
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, (NKJV)
And then what would be the point of reincarnation??? For man to redeem himself? That contradicts the reason Jesus came...
Personally I think it's hopeless nonsense, but ultimetelly, this is a free country, everyone believes whatever they want, no??? So the ball is in your court.. Don't believe it because someone tells you something interesting...

If I had to believe in one form of afterlife concept, I'd probably pick reincarnation, only because it makes the most sense based on what I see in nature. Nature recycles everything--a tree dies, falls to earth, rots, and enriches the soil for other trees to grow, their fruit/seeds become food for animals which also die and enrich the soil, etc. So, IF I believed that a soul existed, I'd have to say that it probably gets "recycled" somehow, going into a new body when the old one dies.
However, that just brings up the questions of what a soul is, where in the body it resides, why it needs a body at all, how it is able to retain memories and formulate thoughts when it has no brain, where it originally came from, etc. Nobody has the faintest clue about any of these things, they only have opinions based on religious indoctrination; and no testable, provable evidence has ever been provided for the existence of a soul. For these reasons, I do not accept the teaching on the existence of souls.

I believe that reincarnation exists for several reasons, but I'll just choose one (or two?)
Why would we struggle through a life and then just die and there be no reason for ever being here.
Also, the Christian view is, in my opinion, very limited mostly due to brainwashing and fear of individual thoughts. God is an energy, as is our soul & spirit.
Have you ever met someone and got the feeling that you become friends so easily as if you've known each other your entire lives? You probably were.
We are here to learn peace, compassion, appreciation of nature and to repay debts owed from a previous life or lives and to learn from living on both sides of the fence. So we can forgive our offenders. It may take many lives.
Seek a reputable person who does past life regressions.
It makes more sense than Heaven or Hell in my mind.

The Reincarnation FAQ
For the foreseeable future, there can be no absolute scientific proof of reincarnation, and none against it. It is up to the individual whether they take a personal stand or not on the issue. But for those interested in the subject, it is desirable to have as much information about the evidence to date and the various schools of thought.
This FAQ (short for "Frequently Asked Questions") was created to provide answers for the many common questions people have about reincarnation and also to give as wide a background to the subject as possible in terms of scientific, religious and mystical exploration.

First of all, reincarnation does NOT exist. Reincarnation is very much part of religions, such as Hinduism and the like. As you pointed out, that belief concerns with people's past lives. For example, let's say you die. According to reincarnation, you will come back, as another person or beast, depending on what kind of person you were (good or bad). But all of this "religion" is wrong!
You have a soul, a spirit within your body: your body just serves as a vessel for your soul. When your body decays, your soul will go on forever in either one of two places: Heaven or Hell. There is no Purgatory either!
I could probably go on, but I don't want to make this lengthy. Please contact me if you have further questions as to what I said. ^_^

Yes-- You were once a poor poor female surf in old old London England.
You were then a grape picker, male, in southern Italy.
You were then the mother of Ivan the Terrible.
Then you were a south American hooker working the streets of Cartagheina.
Then you were so bad you were reincarnated as a large fish and eaten by Hawaiians at a Luao.
Then you were the mother of Shirley Maclean.

I think you better go to the site below --and find a good Church.

All of your past life memories are within yourself, love. A very good book on the subject is called "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Reincarnation". Funny title, but it's a very informative and well-researched book. Best of luck to you.

Buddhists believe that the current Dalai Lama is the reincarnation of the previous Dalai Lama, and so on. When the previous Dalai Lama died, he did not tell where his successor might be, so Lamas fanned out across Nepal trying to find him. They came across a toddler who had always told his parents that he would go to the capital city of Nepal, and who was able to successfully pick out all of the previous Dalai Lama's possessions from an assortment of items, and claimed them as his own. He is the current Dalai Lama.

The Catholic Church does not teach reincarnation. It teaches resurrection, as do most main-line Christians.
Reincarnation would mean that we get a multitude of chances to live our life.
Resurrection teaches that life is precious, is experienced once and, because of Resurrection, forever.
