I'm going to call an exterminator to get rid of them but until then do you have any home remedies to kill a black widow spider? I have three cats to worry about so the "poison" has to be pet-friendly.

try this, put a line (smear with fingure) of motor oil in and around where you think they come out of. I don't see a whole lot of cats lapping up motor oil so I think the cats are safe in that aspect. good luck with whatever method you choose. I know for a fact ants wont cross that line so I'm guessing it might work for spiders.

If you don't have babies or young children crawling around, you may want to try Sevin Dust. It can be applied directly to fruits and vegetables and healthy adult dogs and cats (meaning it's not too toxic). I've applied it from a shaker can to home carpeting as well as dog kennel areas that were flea infested. Leave it down on carpet all day or overnight and then vacuum. Make sure your Vacuum Cleaner bag is new or empty before vacumming, that way the dust will stay inside and continue to kill any flea eggs that get sucked up in the future. Sevin dust kills all sorts of bugs, and more than likely Spiders too. It may solve all your pest problems and at $10.00 for a 5 pound bag, it's alot cheaper than professional pest control. Hope this helps.

Step on it or smash it with a Shoe or some other flat object.
That'll Do The Trick and the Cats will remain Safe!

Yeah. Squash them with your shoe. Squash them until they are dead. There. Pet friendly enough for you?
