We live to learn because through learning we become our true selves. Most human beings seem to learn best by suffering, but if you are open and willing to observe others and learn from their mistakes, you will do a lot less suffering and a lot more smiling. Love and light. Think about it.

Well Angel, maybe we are all here to help each other get through the sufferring & get on to the good times. Ever notice that the bad is easier to accept rather than the good? Personally, I have had my trials & tribulations and yeah giving up seemed the easiest way to deal but it isn't the ANSWER..........get my point? I went around for years w/holes in my heart & other illnesses until I finally asked "Why Me?"...................now I look @ a glass & say "Screw it, the glass is there w/water in it" not 1/2 full or empty..............just there in plain sight. Life can be a crap shoot but you need to look at yourself inside & realize that you are a valuable human being & you do have something to contribute to society. At the risk of sounding like a Bible Thumper : Job chose to go through his sufferring & yeah, it seems like we don't have the nads to do that but when the deck is stacked against us; you might surprise yourself. It is a long flippin' road & there are way too many bumps for my liking but you go down it & hope that you are none worse for the wear & tear. And to die????? Well, that is just another part of living, so let people see the beauty you have inside & in the end they'll remember how you LIVED !!!! You are only seeing the negative so please, look for the positive.............either it is in you or somebody very close.............you never know............just take that chance & I promise you won't be sorry...........I only wish I knew then what I know now from personal experience; it would have saved me the anguish of asking the same question you just did. Hope this helps !!!
Love,
Beth

If you can't find a good reason to live, then you just are not trying hard enough.
Love, compassion, charity, valor, hope, prosperity and peace are all worth the suffering we must all endure through our lives. In life, there is hope and opportunity. In nothingness, there is only a lack of possibilities.
There has NEVER been an absolute dearth of the good on Earth, and there has always been more good than evil. Please persevere and try to make the world a better place for all of us.
The suffering that we all endure merely brings MEANING to the best of times. If we did not experience disease, how could we appreciate good health or the researchers who find a cure?
Do not question God. He knows what he is doing thank you very much.

Some of use more than others are hard wired to do so. Blame it on genes, environment, nature, nurture or faith. There is a great fight in us that is down right passionate. Resolve to slay the pain and live valiantly. It's like the phase, "One Day At a Time." You only need one reason to live for and to carry on.
It can be a goal or something simple, even downright silly. There is no right answer or example. But the fun is in discovering others things that will Motivate you along to experience and resolve some of those questions giving you more reasons to free yourself and to live. The phase, "This too shall pass," comes to mine and the next thing you know time has lifted the wound you were carrying around.

One good reason as to why we live is this:
Like a game, there must be a challenge. Life presents many challenges, but the one challenge that matters, truly matters, is the challenge to spending time with, over-coming issues with, being happy with, and forgiving the flaws with...
The ones you love...maybe a sister, brother, friend, mother, father, etc.
You will see the many times that life challenges you to save these relationships...and that's the meaning of life. Save the relationship because once you are lying in your hospital bed knowing you're gonna move on, you will surely miss a hand full of people, and that's the meaning to life...
Not the Honda Accord you might love so much because material things will always be replaceable.

Technically speaking, Rochelle is correct. But while we're here, we might as well have a good time. Even though there is bad stuff that happens every day, there is good stuff too. Why waste your time on this planet being anything but joyful? Yes, when bad stuff does happen to you, or those you care about it is not appropriate to be joyfull all the time. BUT! 95% of the time there is no reason to be all bummed and down. People who care about others take joy in doing what they can to help.

There's many reasons why we live. To the religious, it's god. The scientific, we evovled over time. Yes we suffer, but we also have our good times. It just depends how you look at life and how go through with it.

stop asking why and relish the good in life...when we suffer, it either makes us lay down in defeat and disgust or it makes us pick ourselves up off of the floor and cherish the next instance of something good in our life in light of that past suffering. If we didn't suffer, how would we appreciate what good there is in life? We'd take it for granted!

Same thing I have been asking myself. The big question "WHY?"
and there must be an answer. But i fear we will have to wait til we leave this plain. The only reason I think we exist is to procreate and leave a legacy.
