So i am a part time nanny and I am quite busy this summer with babysitting for a bunch of families and my sister's wedding coming up in August. I applied to be an applebee's server at the end of last school year and they just called to have me come in for an interview. I am 18 and I really need to make money for school. I was wondering if anyone knows how much on average an applebee's server makes. I know if I ask the owner they will tell me they get good tips and bla bla bla just so they look good and I take the job. Let me know if you think it's worth my time or I should just keep nannying for the summer. I do want to have a life outside of work but I don't know.

I manage an Applebee's and $2.13 is the pay. You can make really good tip money if you are good to you customers.

I'm guessing that they probably make $2.65/hr plus tips. How much you make depends on how much you can work, and as a new server, you might not get great hours. If you're working weekend nights, you could leave with a lot of money in your hands, but if you're working weekday lunches, you could get screwed. Why not go to the interview, and ask a few of the servers how the tips are while you're there? If it were me, I would stick with the babysitting, esp if you already have a lot of gigs...waitressing is fun, but very hard work, and takes some getting used to.

The actually pay will be very low, but you should make good tips if you are good server. Serving is like acting. No matter how much you hate the people your waiting on you have to act like you really care about them. I served for 10 years. I made great money, but it was by far the most stressful job I ever had. Good luck!!

If you do decide to take the job deposit your money A.S.A.P. Your would not believe how fast you can spend that cash.
