Keep coming with your little Bash the US posts. They are quite fun to read. As real as global warming is, it is still a process the Earth has used time and again. We may have sped it up some, but the fact of the matter is the Earth's climate has changed many a time throughout the history of this planet, and will do so more in the future, whether humans are here or not. Now as far as Americans not giving a damn, well that's preposterous. Look at Al Gore, he let us all know he's going to run for president again by doing a movie on Global Warming, so we obviously don't all think it is a sham made up by the smaller countries who are pissed off that they are less industrialized and years behind technologically. Oh but its the industry thats doing it...sorry maybe we should cut our production of everything and cut the world off so we, the big bad American giant can cut our emissions and slow the process. Enjoy growing your own food everyone.

The first poster is a moron. Global warming is here and its because of us. True, the Earth cycles its heat, but not at this rate of development. Our CS gasses and pollution is contributiong to the world heating at an incredible rate.
Yes, SUV's and big cars contribute by pushing more gasses into the atmosphere. Your mums right. However, alot of people, mainly Americans, will deny it when nearly every scientist world-wide has told us it exists. Why?
Without cheap gas the American obsession with consumption would be threatened. Kyoto, the agreement signed by every nation on the planet, except the US, plans to start cuttign back emission, ie, forcing factories to be greener and cleaner.
The American drive for profit at all costs is pushing us towards another Ice Age, how can any sensible person deny this?

Anyone who says global warning is BS must be ignorant, American, or working for the oil companies (- or all three) The USA only 'civilized' nation in the world refusing to do anything about it and are ignoring masses of scientific evidence. This is mainly because global warming is caused mostly by pollution and ozone depletion and it is a fact that the USA despite being 5% of the world's population cause 80% of pollution.

Listen
Global Warming will not end. It all started in the Industrial Revolution when back then, people werent educated as to today. Now, global warming is a real problem because as we find solutions for it, we keep adding to the situation. Plus, we dont have enough time to fix it due to other priorities like terrorism, global pandemics, and international issues. Global warming will continue to proceed like a line of dominoes. You start one thing and it leads to another problem. For those people who say it is nothing, they contribute to global warming everyday by pollution and even recycling. Dont take my word for it, just think for yourself and do some research.

The cars you mention still add to global warming in several factors. But you have to think logically about these things, dont listen to everybody else. Like I say, do some research.

It will not end. It will get worse. There is no way to stop what we have started. They say if we got rid of everything damaging to the Ozone layer right now it would takes thousands of years for it to recover. It is true that vehicles with diesel engines and high emissions do contribute more than the average vehicle to the depletion of Ozone. That isn't all though. It has to do with large industrial companies, deforrestation, contaminating water ways. Pollution in general. Too many people, not enough ways to get rid of crap!

Actually, I was just at the Smithsonian yesterday in the Natural History museum.

The earth's average temperature for the last 5 million years was about 50F.

But, 65 million years ago, when the first mammals evolved, the average temp was about 85F.

So we've been in a major cooling trend.
