When she/he is awake and not in your arms. The age is irrelevant.

You probably want to wait a few weeks at least, if not a month - definitely until the umbilical cord falls off! You want to make sure that the baby can lift his/her head enough not to suffocate on the carpet.

As long as you are there with the baby next to the baby you can start giving the baby belly time within the first few weeks.
However it is best to wait until they are at least a month old and can hold their head up on their own.

wait until after the umbilical cord falls off. you should really wait untill he/ she can hold their heads up that way they dont suffocate.
belly time gives the baby a chance to stretch and work their muscles.

I started giving my baby belly time when i laid her on her back and the back of her head starting going flat from being on her back too much. She refused to go on her back but i would make her for a few hours a day. I mostly did when she would start kicking her arms and legs and could hold her head up. Wait at least a month or two.

Give him belly time once he has control of his head. My baby did not like belly time at all but I did it at least 4 times a day even if it was for a few minutes.
Congratulations on the new baby!!!!

if you are right their you can give the baby belly time right after the cord falls off. one point of belly time is to help the baby to learn to rowel over, and learn to lift the head from side to side to strengthen the neck muscles.

Well everyone tells you to do it at a certain age blah blah blah...I have had eight kids and well my first born loved her stomach, second hated it cuz he was colic but loved to be wrapped up tight, third loved her back and that left a bald spot but she didnt have the flat mark because she would be in the swing, bouncer or my arms, fourth only her stomach would cry if she wasnt on her stomach from the day I brought her home, fifth she had colic really bad worse than my son so I had to hold her all the time on her stomach and pat her but...i got no sleep with that one, my sixth he loved any way he was so good which was a good thing cuz the fifth was still crying with colic LOL, my seventh loved her tummy just like her older sister did it as soon as we got home, and my baby eight she hated her tummy and didnt even roll over til she was ten months old because she hated being on her tummy! So its up to the baby and you not everyone else. if you put the baby on their tummy just make sure that your are nearby and at night time I always had our babies in bed with us til they were 3 months old cuz I breast fed and it was easier than having to get up and walk to the crib etc I am lazy LOL...good luck with your baby and God bless

You need to be concentrating on caring for the baby and being a good mother FIRST, not thinking selfishly about yourself, your body, and when you can start looking for the next baby's sperm donor.

My home nurse told me that right away is best... even if it is only for 5 seconds for the first time.... just long enough at first to get them used to the idea.... then longer as they get older.

If you are watching your baby you can start the first few weeks, but it's best to wait until they can rollover on their own
