Contact your local Social Security Office......you can find that number by going on the internet-yellow pages/Kentucky, etc. and you can get your last name change that way......they will ask for original documents, your marriage license or marriage certificate in order to change your name legally. After all this they will issue you a social security card with your last name changed.

That is done through the Social Security Office. Contact them and go from there. When I got married I went to the local office, filled out a piece of paper, they made a copy of my marriage license and they mailed me a new social security card.

Once you got married and the paper work got turned in, your name was legally changed. Now you just need to change it on all your accounts. I don't think it has anything to do with where you live.

Well, in Kentucky most people marry their sister or brother or cousin. Therefore you probably already have the same last name.
