To clean iPod, unplug all cables and cords and set the Hold switch to Hold. Then use a soft, damp, lint-free cloth. Avoid getting moisture in openings.

Use a monitor cleaning wipes, that's what I use and it does clean m iPod well. I don't think you need to buy expensive ones, all you need is cheap monitor wipes. They work well.....from personal experience.
