so i have a 1985 BMW 735i, and for some reason, only when i hit the gas, the alternator light comes on. it doesnt stay on, i had gotten the alternator and battery checked and everything is great. I am just wondering what i should do with the alternator light coming on when i hit the brake, or the gas? never while drivign the vehicle.

maybe the belt is slipping when you take off.

The 735 series they are great cars but there are a few with some electrical problems is possible that is a lose wire or one that is not grounding properly. Go to a car electrician to trouble shot the problem. Ask if the BMW shop has one other wise take it to a dealer but just tell them this and don't let them full you, they can connect the device and you can drive away for one day or two it will detect the problem or they just use the code search.when the problem shows,i hope his will help you.
