no, not at the professional level. i read in the newspaper that a girl competed against the guys somewhere in the Pittsburgh area and won states, but that's only high school. When it comes to sports, men are just always gonna be superior to women. But I guess it all depends on your definition of successful. If the woman makes it a good match, but lose in the first round some may consider it successful. I think successful would be to finish 1st or 2nd place

Men and women have two completely different styles at the pro levels. Men have more power and hit more impressive shots, but women are much more consistent and tend to miss shots less often. Also, women pros are able to hit more impressive angle shots because there not worried about smacking the hell out of the ball. Someone like Rafael Nadal is a good example because he plays the same way as many women players. He doesn't overpower any of his opponents, but he beats them by returning everything that's hit at him and by hitting shots with nearly impossible angles. He's arguably the best player in the world, so there's no reason why women can't be good on the men's circuit as long as they are able to adapt to dealing with more speed on serves and groundstrokes.

Definately not. Three or for years ago, Karsten Braasch (former German Davis Cup Player), ATP-Ranking about 1000 at that time, beat Serena Williams 6:1 (Number 1 at that time) and Venus Williams with about the same result. What would Federer do with them?
In the late 80s, Steffi Graf played against John McEnroe and also did not have a chance...

On the club level? Maybe. On the pro tour? No way. It's a different game. The power and athleticism are on a different level. It's taking nothing away from the women's skills. I love watching players like Hingis, Henin-Hardenne and Mauresmo. They are more entertaining than many of the men, but the idea of a female player finding success on the men's tour is absurd.

Probably not. The prime example was when Kim Clijsters and Lleyton Hewitt were a couple and used to knock up with each other. This did wonders for Clijsters as she was hitting with someone way above her level (and she is womens world ranking number 2) where as it put Hewitts game down and saw his ranking fall (a previous world number 1). Venus Williams record serve is 127.4 mph whereas the fastest male serve was recored at 150mph by Andy Roddick. Most Male player serve at the fastest womens serve alot of the tiem. So my answer to your question is no!

I doubt it..the top lady might have a chance against a man ranked at 200, but not against the top guys. I am pretty sure that Mauresmo couldnt beat Henman or Murray, and I wont even want to think the outcome if she played Federer, Nadal etc.

Why? Women don't want men in their locker room and vise versa. They could compete and probably beat most of them if they did.
