You can always call your doctors office to ask such a question--you don't have to wait until your appointment! DO NOT get medical advice from even well-intentioned strangers here at Yahoo Answers--CALL YOUR DOCTOR.

Call your doctor. Why do you trust the people on this site more than your own doctor? Your doctor has someone on call and they have the list of medications.
By the way, the safe medications list is different depending on what trimester you are in. This is not something you want to take your chances on.

My wife, when she was pregnant a little over 2 years go, was allowed to take plain sudafed - which worked wonderfully. However, don't use this example, call your ob/gyn. They can tell you what to take and how much. The health of your little one is too important to base your decision on the results from this forum... and, chances are they'll be all too happy to answer your question. You can't go wrong with chicken soup though - there's a reason they call it Jewish Penicillin...

my doctor gave me a list last week of over the counter drugs you can take for like headaches, colds, and stuff like that and under colds, cough, and flu it says you can take Sudefed,Tylenol,Afrin Nasal spray, steam vaporiser, and robitussion(plain). But then again, a few anwsers above mine says why trust people on this site, call your own doctor,so i guess call your own doctor but when people have 4 or 5 kids they should know by now what you can and cant take during pregnancy(unless something is wrong during the pregnancy)

I have had four children and suffer from migraines during all my pregnancies. My ob/gyn told me anything made by tylenol You can take. That includes for headaches and sinus/cold medicine. Just be sure it is Tylenol brand. And only take the recommended dosage. If you take any other meds for pre-existing medical conditions be sure to contact your Dr. to make sure it will not interact with your meds.

Try saline nose spray if you are congested, or breathing in steam really helps. You can also call your doctor and ask a nurse a question about any particular meds. Hope you feel better, hon.

If you have a cough as well, take a syrup with Guifenicin. My wife, when pregnant, takes a clear blue sinus gel cap for head colds.

Tylenol is always approved, but for anything more, you must call your doctor. If your throat is sore, try warm salt-water gargles. (Just stir some salt in warm water). Chicken soup really does help, too.
