Are you doing this in the UK? you do know that latest regs make it illegal to do your own wiring at all unless you apply for council testing and approval... the alternative is to use a "part p" registered sparky... the cable size for a 13A outlet is 2.5, underground cables need a mechanical barrier to stop accidental damage, use SWA inside a upvc sleeve.. all outlets must be ip65

Sockets should be wired up using 7/029 or 2.5 cable. you can use 3 core flat or single core green/yellow, brown and blue. The lighting circuit can be wired up using 1/044 or 1.5 cable.
As for underground cables it is safer to trench, lay armoured 3 core cable cover with concrete slabs then back fill. This way you will have a warning when you dig ...its pretty hard to get a spade through concrete.
