It is my belief that, yes, it should. Intelligent design (not only the Christian creation story, but others as well) and evolution have equal claim to be accepted *as* *theories* for the origin of the Human Race. Evolution has not been proven, yet it is taught as fact because no other beliefs are presented alongside it. It is only fair that all beliefs be represented fairly. I'm not saying who's right, only that we all have a right to our own opinion about something that has not been *proven* to be true.

It would be good to have all the merits and disadvantages of each theory to be taught.

I think another good addition to the curriculum would be to teach a class on logic in high school. Teach the kids to reason for themselves.

It is pretty freaking evident that evolution has occured, is occurring, and will continue to occur for as long as there are beings on this planet. Its called adaptation and Human beings are not above it. It has happened to all species of animals, which yes, you guessed it, Humans are. Intelligent design may be the best thing the religious folks have been able to come up with at this point, but that doesn't mean it has any more credence than some of the older theories. Whereas an actual scientific theory should be studied in school, leave religious theory to religion classes or church.

I agree that these ideas should be introduced in the classroom but never should an idea be forced upon a child. The Real issue with this topic is that the class will be taught by a biased teacher. The teacher is going to teach what he or she believes in most strongly which may leave the other two ideas feeling more like theories in the students mind.

Nope - the supreme court ruled many years ago that there is to be a separation of church and state - when you can prove that 'intelligent design' is nothing more than creationism then maybe I'll see your side. Your religious beliefs belong in a religious institution. If you want your children to learn your beliefs, send them to a religious-based school. This country is based on religious freedom and it disturbs me that people can be so callous to try and push their beliefs on others without giving any thought to why that is wrong.
