I've got a TON of money and nothing to do with it. I don't have any kids to give it to and I don't want it to go to the state when I die. I waste my money on a daily basis but I haven't had to do that as much since gas prices have gone up so high. Some people say I should just give my money to charity, but then I get a tax break that I don't really need, so I stopped doing that. I just want to get rid of this pile of money I'm sitting on.

What's it gonna take before I can FINALLY pay more than 5 bucks a gallon?

I cannot help but be baffled by your statement! First of all you say that you have a "TON" of money and then you say that the higher gas prices keep you from wasting your money? For the sake of most Americans, I hope gas does not go up to "5 bucks" a gallon. Would that really make you happy? There would be so many people that would be hurt by such a high prices. However, to answer your question, if America does not begin to drill and produce oil then eventually the gas prices will rise. We do have untapped resources and we should begin to look for them to keep from being dependent on other nations. We also need to look for other sources to fuel our machines. Most people are not wealthy like you--consider yourself lucky and stop belly aching on how to spend your money--there are so many people in need that I'm sure you can find a way to spend you funds--and you don't have to use the donation as a tax break--that is your choice when filing each year.

Write your Senator and ask for the gas tax to be raised from one dollar per gallon to three dollars per gallon, that should put gas around 5.50- 6.00 per gallon, and probably make people quit wasting energy!!! And piss a lot of people off at first.

Maybe in a year or two it will be $5 a gallon... a short term plan could be filling up random strangers cars at the pump or drive everywhere in a motor home.

A real excise tax on gasoline (not that pitiful 19 cents-a-gallon pretense), the kind they have in Britain or Norway...

Bill Gates, who at least used to have more tons than you, found a better way to use it rather than giving it to companies who would plunder and pillage the planet. I'm not sure how tongue-in-cheek your question is.

If you were in Europe you would be paying that already. A war in middle east would do the trick.
