Politicians are only one level of infuence in our country. We have Directors of Agencies, Directors of Departments and CEO's of organizations. It is a complicated balancing act. US agencies were developed to protect the people from business's taking advantage of citizens. So if you get rid of the politicians, you would then have to get rid of the Directors of Agencies and CEO's of business's. And if you do some research governement and big business are sometimes all one in the same ie; Cheney and Haliburton are one of many many examples of how government and business are awfully cozy with one another. America is a great place to live, have you ever been to other countries before??? Despite all our problems, we still have many freedoms most countries don't have. Our court and criminal justice system for example is better than let's say Mexico or China. What will make our country a better place is if we as citizens, cotinue to challenge the ethics in governments and how it affects our lives.

well we'd be minus 1 congress, so we'd have to hold elections again, and that would create at least 6 months of anarchy and no progress. So a better way to do it would be to make every politicians term expire at the next election and vote for all new people.

With power there is ultimately corruption. People seek elected offices initially to do good but as they rise through the ranks of elected offices, they are bribed and see dollar signs so eventually nobody would be serving in our elected offices.

I don't know if it would be a better place, but there certainly would be a lot more parking spaces available in the nation at our government centers.
