As long as she has her period...maybe you should call her doctor just to be sure, that is what they are there for.

Alright listen here. I've already answered your question. So has a whole bunch of other people. You arent going to get an answer you want by asking this question millions of times. If SHE wants to use a tampon and has ASKED you then go ahead and go shopping for some. There are teen/junior/slim fit tampons designed for young teens that has just started their periods and who find the larger ones uncomfortable. Just teach her how to use it and that she MUST change it every 4-6 hours to prevent infections.
I also suggest a divacup for any kind of sport, they have a major less chance of infection and alot cheaper over the long run then tampons. just search it on yahoo.

My daughter was a competitive swimmer when younger and I think all the girls found tampons much better, being in the pool so much. Ask your daughter how she feels about it, and instruct her in how to use it. She may not want to at such a young age.

No, girls her age don't really wanna deal with tampons. Wait until her period ends during the week and then take her swimming. I think she's too young to wear one.

if your daughter has a period she can physically wear tampons
you need to teach your daughter that she must change them at least every 8 hours and that ists unsafe to sleep in tampons
you also need to scedule her a yearly pap smear if she has a period, and her gyn can answer questions about issues like this

You've asked this question way too many times BUT she is way to young and you shouldn't be swimming when you have your period, tampon or not, its disgusting.

DON'T GIVE YOUR DAUGHTER A TAMPON. TAMPON'S ARE NOT FOR PRE-TEENS WHO ARE NOT SEXUALLY ACTIVE. A GIRL WHO HAS JUST STARTED HER PERIOD SHOULD WEAR A PAD. PLEASE ASK HER PEDIATRICIAN IF TAMPON'S ARE SAFE FOR GIRL'S HER AGE!!! REMEMBER TAMPONS CAN ALSO BE UNSAFE FOR WOMEN TO USE , BECAUSE IF YOU READ THE LABEL THERE IS A WARNING ON THE PACKAGE THAT SAYS TAMPONS CAN CAUSE TOXIC SHOCK SYDROME AND OTHER AILMENTS, BE CAREFUL GIVING THEM TO CHILDREN TO USE .

Yes I don't see what it would hurt her. And tell her to only use them when she goes swimming, other than that she can use a pad.
