We got a rabbit about a 3 weeks ago, we also rescued a 5 week old kitten about 3 days ago, well the kitten is real small and rabbit is a mini lop, but weighs more than the kitten. They get along as far as they dont fight or anything but the rabbit keeps trying to mount the kitten. If the kitten was bigger it would be able to knock the rabbit off but the kitten is about 1lb and the rabbit is about 3lbs. I dont know what to so that the rabbit will stop the mounting, is there anything?

The larger bunny mounting the smaller kitten has nothing to do with sex whatsoever.. This is how rabbits show the pecking order. Basically, the rabbit is telkling the kitten, "my house, if you wanna stay then I'm the boss." Female rabbits will do this as well. If the kitten shakes him off, then they may battlke over whos the boss. If the kitten sits and takes it. then he is bowing to the rabbits dominance, and the rabbit should stop this behaviour as they get used to each other.

Even small kittens are tougher than they look, the cat can take the weight. If the rabbit starts to bite, or kick the cat with its rear paws, then remove the rabbit immediately.

Fill a squirt bottle with water and squirt the rabbit when he tries to mount the cat when the cat gets big enough I am sure she will start defending herself until then water works the best I use it to discipline all 4 of my cats and my 2 dogs and it seriously is the easiest and best deterrent for stupid behaviour!!

I don't know how old bunnies have to be before they can be spayed, but that should definitely stop the mounting. Until you can get her spayed, though, I would recommend that you don't allow them to spend time together without supervision. You don't want the bunny to crush the kitten. You may want to just keep them apart until the kitten is big enough to defend itself anyway. If the bunny keeps doing that to the kitten, she may become terrorized and that isn't fair. Good Luck.

properly, you are going to be able to desire to constantly attempt biting the cat back whilst it gets too tough, that's what its siblings might do. . . easily in all seriousness do the same difficulty to the cat human beings might with a canines. If the cat gets too tough tell it No! firmly and push it away or supply it slightly bop on the top. We then attempt to get it drawn to certainly one of its toys so it is going to go away our palms on my own. My uncle's cat has this same problem and we try this to the cat. If the cat maintains to attack us we repeat the strikes which oftentimes does the trick on getting the cat's interest that what that's doing isn't appropriate. If it maintains we tell it No returned and the two get rid of the cat from the room or ourselves, ending the play time. some human beings additionally use a squirt bottle on their cats whilst telling them No. This has met with blended consequences from what i've got seen. some cats hate it, others stay unaffected by employing the water even whilst soaking moist.

The rabbit is trying to dominate the cat. If the rabbit is nuetered I would let the rabbit do it for only a minute or so. Then brush him off. If your rabbit is not nuetered get him fixed! http://www.rabbit.org

Use a squirt bottle and squirt him with water when he tries to do it or keep them somewhat separated.
