not everyone in the world ( and it's a great, big world) is a backstabber. pick and choose your friends carefully. God did not put us in the world to be alone.

Observe how people treat you - if they treat you with respect and compassion, that's a good person. If not, leave THAT PERSON ALONE..
GOOD LUCK

Yeah, I hear ya. I have had the same problem with people using me and backstabbing me - I got tired of it and now I'm starting all over with finding friends again.
It's not good to be a loner - having friends to do things with is fun, but I certainly prefer being a loner over having friends that constantly use and abuse me.

im going through the same thing. im the kinda person who would rather have good friends, then no friends at all. but sometimes you get lonely, and need someone to kick it with. i guess you should just pick the best one and hang out with them once in a while. or get new friends. or search for new friends, and once you get them, dont hang out with the backstabbers.

Well, life is a Savage Garden....
You have to accept both part of it, i.e, its savage and also its a garden...
Well, its really not a good idea to be a loner, but its wise to limit the accessibility of your friends in your life to make it safe so that you wont be hurt when they betray you...
I can answer better if you can share the instance where you were betrayed??

I have come across many backstabbers in my lifetime. Too many to count. I, myself, am a loner, and I don't see anything wrong with it. Good luck.

I've been married for 25 years but I still have "loner" tendicies. I like going to movies by myself, I go swimming in the dark by myself, I like to go on drives by myself, etc.

I have a decent family and a few friends but sometimes life is less complicated when I am doing something by myself.

what is a friend? Once again, many definitions.
I have many friends but we dont like hang out all the time nor do we always need to see each other. We keep in touch by phone or by email or letters in the mail. I agree with you. many friends that do hang out end up being back stabbers! That **** hurts as much as a breakup!

The human being is a social entity, the need to connect on a personal level is fundamental.

Don't give up on ALL friends if some never were your friend to begin with.
