I live about 2 hours north of Disney World and go all the time, and no, I'm not bored of it yet :) If it's your first time going I would say Disney because you can usually get tickets at somewhat of a discount that allow you to travel between MagicKingdom/Epcot/MGM/Animal Kingdom
But Kissimee, Florida in Jan can get cold.....I'd recommend loose fitting jeans and a short sleeved shirt..you can always bring a sweater if it gets cold and def sneakers

Disney World is awesome any time of the year. January would be decent though because it isn't scorching hot. I would bring normal stuff on a plane like a book, or music.

I went in January this year. It was great. The parks weren't crowded like in the summer. We stayed 7 days and went swimming 4 of those days. The other 3 days were chilly but not cold. I would recommend January over any other month. It's nice to be warm in the winter time....

DO NOT GO TO DISNEY IF YOU LIKE REAL THRILL RIDES!!! Disney is basically a massive kiddie land and is incredibly boring and not worth the entrance fee. Nearby Busch Gardens Africa is much more worth the entrance fee with much more thrilling rides that include SheiKra, Kumba, and Montu (all of which are featured on the Amusement Today Top 50 Steel Coasters List).

during january, disney is cool. once its winter, disney can get brutally cold (but hey i am always in hot weather). disney is a lot of fun if you want to bring out your childish side. you either love it or hate it. i personally think it is great! and they have great food for a theme park! as for the plane ride, bring a mp3 player and some magazines

Bring something to keep you busy, like a gameboy or puzzlebook. Even though you are going to Florida, wear long slacks and a jacket. It is always chilly on the plane.
Bring chewing gum in case your ears get plugged up and bring a few favorite snacks. The airlines do not give out good snacks anymore.
Have fun. I went on my first plane ride at twelve and it makes you feel very grown up.

otay, i just went to Disney world w/ my sister last June/ July, and we had a BLAST!!! my parents didn't go w/ us, just my sister and me. we were by ourselves, and my sister brought iPod and CD player, me? i brought a nice juicy captivating book. i don't think it is that warm in January, my grandmother says it even freezes there in the winter. but i would bring shorts, and some Capri's, and maybe some jeans. i could also give u a tip about Epcot, Mission: Space, if u can handle g forces, and claustrophobia, and high pressure, its a blast, if not, don't go. it ruined some other easy rides for people i kno, but my sister loved it, so yeah. also, space mountain, is a BLAST!! nothing scary, fast and really cool. have fun.

January in florida comparativly is warmer then the north. I live in florida and i wear a coat and pants in the winter time b/c it gets cold, to me. Disney's boring, unless you are a kid or have kids, go to Univeral, they have better rides, if you are looking for more fun.

Disney advice: its worth skipping the parade for space mountain during a thunderstorm!<<
