If stem cell research was anywhere close to actually finding a cure for diseases, they wouldn't need government funding; people would be throwing money at them through investments. The problem with stem cells is that nobody knows what they can or can't do; whether they'll solve all the world's ills or just be an interesting hobby for some biologists. Simply saying that stem cell research may cure cancer doesn't make it so. It just as easily may not.
Good science, like good art, can fund itself, leaving my tax dollars to be better spent elsewhere.

Stem cells are the way to find cures for disease.
Doctor and pharmacies want to only control disease.
Cures means less money for everyone, but the people suffering from diseases

They are stupid if they don't. That is going to be the cure for a lot of diseases, including brain and nerve injuries!
