Sounds like the symptons of 'flash' that you get from exposure to intense light i.e. looking directly into a welding torch.

In my proffessional opinion as someone that has dealt with eye injuries, but not being a doctor, you should go to hospital.

With some eye injuries leaving them alone is the worst thing possible

Do you wear contacts? If you do you could possibly have developed GPS OR GPC (forgot if its an s or c) Well what happens is you get little bumps on the inside of your eye lid and that feels like there is something in your eye, which makes it all red and stuff. Well if you don't wear contacts than maybe you have some kind of infection in your eyes

Something the other answers didn't mention, is the fact that you may have a "sty". A very common ailment, especially if you're around allot of children. So, by all means, do the Doctor thing to make an exact diagnosis.

go to your local ER or A&E department for specialist advice. if there is something in it and it is swollen the best thing is for a trained medic to take a look. the worst thing you can do is take tips like put ice on it or other things frompeople on here as if it is a serious problem you could be left blind as a result.

MEDICAL HELP IS ESSENTIAL. NOT YAHOO ANSWERS.

sounds like you may want to have purple eye. bypass to dr you likely pick antibiotics. attempt wetting a washcloth with cool water and putting it on it, it may ease the discomfort. no matter if it really is an infection it will be really consumer-friendly to spread it to the different eye, so do not contact the forged eye, and wash your fingers alot.
